Paris to Ancaster 70km Single Speed 2019

10:10am and we are off. A short hill before turning right onto a gravel road with lots of water bottles shaken out of their holders to dodge. A few turns and we hit the rail trail. Despite the congestion of hundreds of cyclists we made good progress. The rail trail usually creates 2 lines of riders with slower riders on the right and those overtaking on the left. Everyone seemed to organize without the usual shouting of frustrated cyclists. More water bottles were sent flying so there must have been a few thirsty cyclists out there later in the race.

Intermittent drizzle, and relentless headwinds of 50-70km/hr made for a particularly tough 240km race from Haines Junction, Yukon to Haines, Alaska.
